The customer is king – the Nigerian parody.

The most vital department or unit of any successful business establishment I believe is the customer relations unit. This unit is there to ensure that the customer is always satisfied and continues to patronize the business. Therefore, to businesses that realize that the consumers are the reason for their being, the saying ‘the customer is king’ is not to be trifled with at all, except in Nigeria.
The population of Nigeria alone translates to economic Eldorado to astute business people. Also and unfortunately, the culture of impunity and anything goes syndrome coupled with the absence of checks and balances on the part of Government creates a breeding ground for all sorts of economic atrocities to go on. The service/goods provider is therefore free to pursue profit at any cost thereby exposing the average Nigerian to all manners of assault on a regular basis in the course of paying for goods/services.
Who do I blame? The normal Nigerian will blame the government. I mean, almost every Nigerian is suffering badgovernmentisalism. This is the disease afflicting the average Nigerian. You pay for goods and services and you are treated like shit on top of all the money you paid for the service or good and it is the fault of the government.
It is amazing what Nigerians accept. Goods and service providers are constantly taking undue advantage of their customers and yet the customers continue to patronize them. To me, it appears Nigerians have been totally emasculated, devoid of the ability to make choices and resigned to constant abuse, rape and all sorts of indignities. It appears the average consumer in Nigeria is a zombie past caring about the treatment meted out by service providers’ et al.
To worsen the situation, the enforcement body in charge of ensuring customer satisfaction does not seem to know the difference between a consumer/customer and a service provider/business. I say this because it appears that in the dictionary of Consumer Protection Council (CPC) which is the body I refer to, the service providers/businesses are the consumers to be protected as they (CPC) stand by and watch customers’ rights being trampled upon and abused with poor service delivery.
My greatest confusion however is not that the CPC is not functioning, this is the norm as far as Nigeria is concerned (let me quickly chirp in here that the wind of positive change is blowing over Nigeria and very soon it will no longer be business as usual) but that the average Nigerian consumer continues to accept such undignified treatment over and over and over ad infinitum again. It is saddening. Maybe the average consumer in Nigeria sees him/herself a beggar, lending weight to the saying that a “beggar has no choice”. Because I am surprised not to see people rebelling such treatment en mass. I am not talking about the occasional protest, but I am talking about people just out rightly saying no to indignity and poor service delivery by boycotting a particular product or business.
It is unfortunate that we the people remain unaware of the power we possess, that we are the reason for the continuing existence of any product or business. That if we decide not to consume a particular product or service that business will fold up. And we allow ourselves to be treated shabbily, cheated out rightly and worse, we still pay to be treated that way.
How many so called customer care line are truly functional? It’s so annoying, it hurts. If the government does fail to protect us the consumer is there nothing we can do about it? I don’t want to believe that Nigeria is populated by people who are defeated, hopeless, helpless, hapless, lifeless, powerless, incapacitated and all other such adjectives, I don’t.
We have the POWER, let’s use it. Let’s say no to poor service delivery by boycotting erring goods/service providers en mass. We are the ones in position to hold them to ransom and not the other way round. Let us be united against such shabby and unprofessional treatment. Let’s not forget that if we choose to ignore it when someone else is maltreated today, it could be us next time around, therefore to ensure that all service providers/businesses at all levels are professional and customer satisfaction oriented in their service delivery, we should as one let them know that they are, because we are.
And thank God for the platform afforded us by internet i.e. the social networks. Do not hesitate to cry foul if exposed to poor service delivery. Put your smart phone to good use if you can, record the scene, do so. Mention the day, date and time and try and get the name of the particular people involved. Feel free to name the business without fear. I am calling out to those who have genuine claims to not keep quiet about it. As many as are bold enough to speak out should be encouraged, we all should lend our voice to theirs. We all have a right to enjoy excellent service delivery therefore a slight to one should be taken as a slight to all.
I am looking forward to the day that we all will refuse to travel due to the excesses of e.g. NURTW (*WINK*)
Remember, they are because we are…

National honors – the Nigerian version

National honors – the Nigerian version
14th November, 2011, 355 Nigerians were decorated with national honors by the President, himself a GCFR. There have been many that have taken issues with the way and manner and the caliber of people that the award committee chooses for such awards. Some have been known to refuse such honor in light of the many ills still besetting our country.
I want to lend my voice to those who fault the National Awards process as well as the choice of awardees. I want to stand with those who have vehemently declined to accept the awards. Nigeria is a nation that is still held by the jugular by a cabal and they continue to try to portray that all is well.
Thank God for technological advancements so far and for the numerous Reality TV shows that abound. I would have expected the Award committee to take advantage of technology by publishing the names of the nominees and asking Nigerians to vote via SMS, let me leave the result to your imagination. Let me quickly say though, that this is Nigeria oh and anything is possible, who knows the extent to which some people will go just to become an OON. I mean, it is not impossible for someone to pay people to vote for him or her.
That’s by the way o jare, let me ask the award committee a few questions.
1.     Did you care to publish the criteria used for nominations?
2.     Did you care to ask for suggestions from Nigerians?
Let me stop there.
Now to Jonathan, you claim that the award is not given as a result of the position that the awardees hold or held then please explain how IGP Hafiz Ringim came to be on the list. Is it because he is the current Inspector General of Police? If you say the awards are based on a person’s contribution to the nation, can you kindly highlight some of those achievements? Let me supply you a few that readily comes to mind, is the fact that the Force Headquarters of the Police was bombed and Ringim survived the attack that was counted for him as an achievement? Or is that till now, we still do not see an end to the issue of insecurity in Nigeria therefore we reward cluelessness. What high profile case did he solve? Has he unearthed the killers of Bola Ige and co?
To the case of the former Governor of my state Ondo, who stole the mandate of the people and was duly booted out of the office by the court. How did he merit such an award? Oh, I forget. I am guessing his contributions when he was a Deputy Governor and as a Federal minister merited him the honor. Maybe I’m missing something; he may have contributed to the academic field right? Help me out please.
Is it the tears shed on Benin – Ore - Lagos express road by former Minster of Works, road and transport now Minster of Petroleum resources, the longest serving minister so far having served starting from the Time of Obasanjo till date in the person of Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke. Is it that she has served for soooooo long that she is being awarded or that she contributed her tears to the blood that have wet the Benin – Ore –Lagos road due to the many accidents and robberies on that stretch of road due to government neglect that she is being awarded. Or is it that our refineries are now fully operational, or the impending oil subsidy removal dangling on our heads?
I can go on, but suffice me to say, the process of nominating people for the National Honors is hugely skewed. A lot of the people being given these awards are not positive role models and such do not deserve such honor. Some of the awardees may be deserving of such honor but I regret to say that the entire process has become laughable among well meaning Nigerians.
In fact, as a general studies question, ask anybody on the street if they know what any of the awardees have done and how the person has affected his or her life, I won’t be surprised if the person you mentioned is not known to them.
I stand with the Late Gani Senior Advocate of the Masses, Prof. Chinua Achebe and Honorable Gbajabiamila. I lend my voice to what they stand for. I lend my voice to a better Nigeria. We should be careful the kind of legacies we leave behind. We should be mindful of how the future will remember us. We should fear God. We are not deceived. We are not blind to your antics. We are not influenced by your gimmicks. There still remains a breed without greed in this nation and we are gathering momentum. It’s a matter of time, and that time is upon us. The time is now…

Money, Money, Money (‘too legit to quit’)

Imagine me doing a part two of my MLM write-up so soon. I am surprised at myself. The thing is, financial independence is cool and it’s not for lazy people. I have heard of people working several jobs just to get by and still they barely meet their needs. Meanwhile so many opportunities abound and yet, most people are just not seizing them. Yes, so many scams abound on the internet but yet so many legit businesses take place on a daily basis. You can always find something that suits you and that does not necessarily interfere with your 9 – 5 job and earn extra income on the side. You can delve into MLM or Network marketing and work your way to financial freedom.
What you need to look out for in MLMs are
1.      For how long has the business been around?
2.      How far has the business grown?
3.      What are the incentives like?
4.      Does the business have a proven track record of delivering on promises?
5.      What are the likely risks that one may face in this line of business? Etc…
If the answer you get to all the above questions plus etc are reassuring, then, it’s best to hit the ground running right away.
On the average, you need to find out all you can before you make any venture as it will be foolish not to. That is the error that most people make and when they get burnt they shy from further venturing. I have heard said that life in itself is a risk which I suppose it means that just blindly sitting down because you need to rest your feet on any given chair is a risk. But I don’t catch a lot people examining whether a chair will carry their weight before sitting down though.
Anyways, back to my campaign, you need to just take time to find out what the MLM outfit has to offer, consider all the possible pros and cons, ask yourself if you can do this and make your decision.
But I know a good reason why some people shy from being involved with MLM, they are simply afraid that they will not be able to influence others to join with them. You see, a vital ingredient for success in MLM is relationships. A lot of people don’t make good friends and are not sure if their friendship is good enough to influence others to follow them. MLM is about influence and followership. This kind of followership is based on trust, and integrity is vital here as well. In MLM, your ability to let others know that you truly care for them is very vital and key. In the past, people that have sold MLM to others that I am aware of have done so from the pedestal of selfishness. A lot of people have been hurt and now don’t want to touch anything MLM even with a long pole. Those early marketers got it wrong, and caused a lot of damage in the process. Meanwhile, those that got it right are still making loads of cash and helping others do same.
A very crucial thing you should note is your prosperity is my prosperity in this line of business. The command of Jesus to “love your neighbor as yourself” Matt22:39 comes into play here. My call out to you to join hands with me on my MLM journey is a call out to you to come and prosper. If you respond to my call and do as I am doing, you will prosper, others will be prosperous through you and I will definitely prosper from your prosperity. As in any business that is self owned, you set the pace of your progress.
I assure you, if you take all this to heart and wish to go along with me on this journey, call me on 2348038194265 or email me on segun.omojola@gmail.com right now and you will not have reason to regret. I have deliberately put it thus to ensure I get only serious people calling me or mailing me. Only those who dare to venture will win the price. If you desire to know more, contact me asap.
Like MC Hammer once sang, as far as this MLM thing is concerned, it’s “too legit to quit” for me…
Let’s go there…

Money, Money, Money (the big break you’ve been waiting for)

I am yet to meet anyone who does not love to have all of his/her needs met with little or no stress. I have read of those who choose to be poor and back it up by taking the vow or oath of poverty. Today’s post will not focus on the latter as they have made their choice. They have decided that poverty is their calling and for them, it should be embraced. These people have chosen not to acquire any riches whatsoever or enjoy any luxury. That is them, their choice and their life.
Now to the former, where the average human being falls on are those who desire to enjoy the good things of life, have their needs met as and when due and be in position to be of assistance to others in need. I belong to a type of this category of people. I say a type because there are those in these category that are doing something to make sure they live their dream, while there are those who just stop at the level of dreaming dreams hoping that one day, the dream will come true through no effort of theirs. Me, I am with the former in this case and not the latter.
I have come across a lot of persons that desire the good life and that is where it ends for them, desire. Work? No, these are not desirous of doing what is necessary to make their dream a reality. These are the worst kind and people should be wary of such. The Bible says categorically that “he who does not work must not eat” (please note that the paraphrase is mine) Apostle Paul said so in 2Thes3:10. It doesn’t matter how easy the work that needs to be done is, they just won’t do it and they want to ride big cars, live in mansions and enjoy the good life. Beats me.
There is the other set of individuals who really desire the big bucks, who are tired of just breaking even and just don’t know how to get out of the rut of living from hand to mouth. They barely make enough to get by not to talk of having savings. These people truly work hard but they are just not getting the commensurate reward.
This blog is addressed to the last set of people I just mentioned above. But first, you need to answer some tough questions. Are you ready to give it what it takes to get what you desire? Because I’m afraid, I have met quite a few of these set of individuals who want the big break but are afraid to commit to pursue risky but viable ideas. They fail to realize that, no venture, no gain. No pain, no gain. They fail to see that the seed determines the harvest. They want to make it big, but are afraid to step out. How can you know if you don’t ask? How can you get if you don’t try?
Now to the crux of the matter, to the piece de resistance like the French will put it as in to my raison d’ecrire( I trust I have murdered French a bit), permit me to welcome you to an old trick afresh. I have just recently discovered the sense in this strategy and the opportunities that abound in this business opportunity. Welcome into my world of Multi-level-Marketing, yes, MLM or Network Marketing like some will say and mine is with an added twist. You need to contact me to find out more though, but I assure, if you know what I know, you will make it big in little or no time. It all boils down to how hungry you are. How passionate you are about changing your present circumstances. How desirous you are of enjoying the good live and affecting others as you do is vital to your success in this line of business or if the opposite is the case for you then it should be how much you abhor poverty, all work for me.
MLM you say! Not again. I have uttered these same words several times back but now, the drumming pattern has changed and so has the song(borrowed from a Yoruba idiom). I am for making it big, yes and working hard and smart to do so. If you are with me on this, call me on 2348038194265, or email segun.omojola@gmail.com right now. Do this, and start on the journey that will lead you to realize your dreams…
Let’s go there…

Sexy issues

I know, this looks like an attempt by me to generate more traffic to my blog through various search engines. Well, you may be right and what is wrong with that any way? I have mentioned in the description of this blog that sometimes, the blog could be a series of questions, so here goes….
I have had reason to post a question on my facebook® wall and I can’t say whether to be surprised that only one person commented. The question was what is the meaning of sexy? Maybe we have not truly overcome our shyness towards anything that has to do with sex.
I have heard a lot of usage of that word that confuses me, sayings like, what a sexy shoe! Wow! That car is sexy – and more. So, how can a car be sexy or a shoe sexy?
According to WordWeb® Sexy means, Marked by or tending to arouse sexual desire or interest. Which begs the question, how can a shoe arouse sexual desire in a person? Or please help me out, my head still swims when I hear that a man finds another man sexy not to talk of saying a car, or shoe or whatever inanimate object is sexy to say the least.
I came across a blog site that really thrilled me and I learnt from there that the brain is the most important sex organ because that is where it all starts. The state of your mind is very critical therefore what you feed your mind with is crucial. You have to learn to err on the path of caution when it comes to feeding your mind. The trend now is going for that hot and sexy look so every fashion accessory is sexy, your car is sexy, your house is sexy is born out of sexually dominated mind. Colored and distorted view of sex which is rampant nowadays is destructive. Negative trending is on the rise and is presented as cool, ahn ahn naaaa that isn’t cool, not cool at all.
The fact that it is grossly glamorized does not make it cool either.
We are in the world but not of the world, says Jesus, we are light and salt. We are to live our lives as examples to win unbelievers to the kingdom of God. We are called to be vigilant and mindful of the little foxes that destroy the vine. We should be wary of the attraction of the world by standing firm and trending ‘The Way’. We are called to be discerning of all things and in all situations. We are called to do so because we have been empowered to do so.
The world view will always be anti-Christ, yes. So if you are Christ’s, the world is against you already. Worry not yourself too much, focus on Christ and you have gained the main thing. After all, no man has ever profited from gaining the world and losing his soul.
My wife is sexy… yes to me she is and that should be all.

If Nigeria must divide…

Several proponents have proposed that the way forward for Nigeria is for the Nation to break-up. For them, this division is simple as it should be along ethnic lines, with ethnic meaning the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria. The Yoruba, the Ibos and the Hausas (I know some people will hala that I put Yoruba first) are the major ethnic groups but in reality, Nigeria contains over 200 different ethnic groups.
I even hear that this breakup is going to happen by the year 2015 as stated in a document emanating from the CIA of America.
Here is what I say to all of that, if Nigeria must divide, it won’t be as simple as some think. A lot of people have been mooting this idea but have not even imagined the complexities involved. The breakup along ethnic lines is based on the assumption that the individual ethnic divisions are united among themselves. People who propound this solution fail to take into cognizance the many years of misrule that the citizens of this Nation have been subjected to. Years of neglect that has brought about an emerging evolution that appears to be unstoppable so far, Self reliance.
Throughout all these years of rape, neglect and abuse by each succeeding Government, the people have learnt to fend for themselves, cater for themselves and lookout for themselves. In reality, each household have since become its own establishment, providing for its security, power, basic amenities, and health care services and so on. In short, each house hold has become its own Government – its own Nation – its own Country. So tell me, if Nigeria must divide, do you still think it is feasible along ethnic lines? I doubt. Nigerians have suffered greatly from misrule and mistrust for any constituted authority is the order of the day.
Therefore, if Nigeria must divide, many Nations will be born and I doubt if Africa and indeed the World is ready to deal with over a hundred and fifty million new presidents. I tell you the truth, once any form of division starts; it won’t stop until all households gain their own independence. If you don’t agree, please visit any building facility that houses more than one family, or visit any given estate in Nigeria and you will find out that even Government at that level is still subject to heavy doses of mistrust. If most Nigerians had their way, like Andrew, they will check out and if any was to try to provide an answer to the late Sonny Okosun’s poser, it will be met with confusion.
I know that a lot of people still think in their hearts that Nigeria should divide and that, that is the only way that rapid growth and development can come to the new Nations thus born. But I beg to disagree, yes, Nigeria was not Nigerians idea. Yes, Nigeria was a creation of British imperialism. But, our heroes past as we sing did not fight for independent Nations, they fought for an Independent Nigeria. If, their labors must not be in vain as we also sing, then Nigeria must continue to be one. Yes, all that have ruled us so far did not get it right. But, it is never so late to pick up the pieces and chart a new course for ourselves as a Nation. We must as a people, determine to forge ahead together putting aside all perceived differences. Yes, I say perceived because those differences are all in the mind. In reality, we have so many things in common far much more than our perceived differences.
Let us focus on all we have in common and let that drive us on to glory together. Now, that is unity, and I believe it is possible, do you?
If you believe with me, drop a comment and share this with your friends…

Happy bofday to me...

I have to write. I have not written for some time now. At least the leisurely writing for my blog. Today, I feel compelled to put something down as today is my birthday. I should put this day down somehow. So many things in my head I want to write about. So many things playing out in the world right now and especially in Nigeria to write about, as in so many talking points. Let me borrow a leaf from my friend Maziyateke and bullet all I have to say. I see that as the only way out now.
Mild irritation, annoyance, anger and rage (on our roads)
The above arrangement is purely my design. The hierarchical positioning of the above emotions is my creation. I have not gotten this ranging from any book of Psychology. These ranges of emotional reactions are brought about by varying experiences of humans and the results equally vary from mild to fatal destruction. Our roads are bad, yes. The government is to blame, yes. Most road users a bad, yes. Who is to blame? The incessant carnages happening on our roads on regular basis are not strictly as a result of the bad roads. A lot more is as a result of bad road users. I wonder what is chasing these people. I hardly understand what they are chasing. Nigerian drivers should try to remain calm irrespective of which of the above emotional disposition that is playing out in their life. The loss of life on our roads is getting astronomical due to the carelessness of our drivers. Haba!!! It is getting too much. Just last week in Ondo state, 32 human beings lost their life to motor accident caused by careless driving, 32 people, just like that. This is one incident Guys, one. How is this, the fault of the government? Or we want to say it’s because the government failed to enforce the proper issuance of driver’s license so, the deaths due to reckless drivers is ultimately the government’s fault. So, bad governance is the cause of the constant loss of lives on our roads. If we are frustrated with our rulers, should we allow it to influence our driving? This is ought to be a full write-up but let me do a to be continued here…
The youth and slothfulness
I know, slothfulness is old English and it means laziness. Don’t go for your dictionary yet. I know a lot of young people will not have even bothered to search for the meaning of slothfulness so I have said it, it means laziness plain and simple. Men, most young people of nowadays are so lazy… it is disheartening and will they listen? No. I guess, it’s the fault of the government too. The youth cannot be engaged except the government engages them or sorry, engages their parents. I mean, because of the government, the parents are poor and are not able to cater for their children and on and on it goes. All is blamed on the government. My Nigeria people, the government are our bane. Every evil that has ever and will ever befall us as a Nation is the government. None of it is our fault, as in we the people. Blame it all on the government oh. As if the government foist themselves on us. Where is the saying that goes, you can only take the horse to the river but you can’t force it to drink water? Are we completely helpless? Should I say, hopelessly helpless? Let us work to throw off every iota of slothfulness/laziness. Abeg… as if we don’t have a choice. As if we don’t make decisions daily. As if we don’t choose to do or not do all of the time. Imagine some people blaming the government for the young people that are now embracing terrorism. As if the ability to be violent is restricted to only a few. As in it’s only a select few that have the monopoly of violence right? As if we all are not exposed to the same frustrations. As if there are people that are immune to problems. Abeg…
Terrorism
I have said enough already. Check out my other blog on terrorism.
My bofday
Men, we ate rice and drank water. Had fun reading all my wall posts on FB. Men I feel loved. I thank God for family and friends, all your words of encouragement and prayers are overwhelming. I thank you all that contributed to the beauty of today. I am honored.
Thank you, danke, merci, nagode, e se, imela nu, spassiba, obrigado, gracias, ngyabonga etc… first to God and next to you all.

Gal power!

Talking about gal power and women empowerment issues, I believe that ALL women, ladies and gals should be involved in this struggle (it has become a struggle). There’s a need for ALL of the female folk to pitch in their bit to help change the society’s view of women.

It is very difficult for men to see beyond the cleavages of women most times because that is all they see most of the time. It is said of the American female superstars that when they are getting to the end of their careers they decide to re-launch themselves by promoting their sensuality. In the entertainment industry especially the music industry, the guys do the singing or rapping or whatever and the gals do the dirty dancing and it doesn’t matter the age of the guy. What do you want people to think? The fashion mags are not left out when all most of them do is promote sensuality as opposed to feminineness and sex appeal as opposed to brain power.

As for me, I feel sad when I see this debased portrayal of womanhood when I know that is not how it should be. I wonder if all this women that do this erotic dance for all this musical videos are actually forced into or coerced into doing it. Like I said, it is difficult for me to accept that a semi dressed lady is more than that because the impression that comes to mind is SEX that’s all. I don’t know if I am coming across clearly but I just wanted to put all this down before I lose steam.

I believe in gal power in fact I believe that women have so much power if only they knew and I respect women a lot especially those worthy of respect and we have quite a lot of them to mention a few Oby Ezekwesili, Okonjo Iweala, Hillary Clinton, Condoleza Rice, Ellen Johnson Siarleaf, Michelle Obama and a host of others. These are clear examples of actual gal power which shows that such levels can be attained for women it just depends on how they place themselves. I strongly believe no one can make you do what you don’t really want to do or call you a name that is not yours except you allow the person. These women I just mentioned and others I haven’t mentioned got to where they are today by working hard and exhibiting feminineness and not sensuality(it will be rare for any of these above mentioned women to enter pages where they will be rated on their sensuality or sex appeal) on their fashion sense, yes but definitely not on sensuality. It will be difficult to imagine a vice president of the World Bank as having sexual appeal or even the female president of a Nation. I mean only her husband can see her that way and she does not come out screaming I am a sex symbol in everything she does.

I believe that if all women concentrate on promoting all other qualities they posses (which is quite numerous) rather than their sensuality alone, they will definitely have all the respect they deserve. Let female authors arise that will write the autobiography of the women I mentioned above and others like them, go to them; ask questions about their life and how they coped and all that. Encourage others to follow their footsteps.

Women will be taken more seriously if they understand their role fully and present a united front against such misrepresentation of womanhood.

I am a guy, I love women and above all, I respect them and believe in gal power.

I am scattered….

How? Well, I know I wrote “I am single…” so am I about to contradict myself now? No, far from it, I just want to voice out for those of us who find it very difficult to be single. Now let me pause here and direct you to my blog link where you need to first read the blog post titled “I am single….” Without which this particular blog will not make so much sense to you o.k.? Good.
Some of us are born with ease, now I don’t mean our mums had it easy birthing us but rather that we came with ease as a companion. As interesting as this, sounds, it is the undoing of most of us in this category. Oh yes! We learn with ease, we acquire skills with ease, we breeze through most situations without effort then the quicksand, people hail us, flatter us and then we become so full of ourselves. We can do anything and we don’t need to practice much because it comes to us naturally. Sports, business name it. And here is the result, we are not able to focus, we are free spirited and very mobile, moving to the next interesting thing. We become Jack of all trade and master of none because being disciplined is a struggle since we pick things easily.
You may by now be wondering who we are, we are the multi talented, the scattered. A quick glance at my profile please and you will get an idea of what I am trying to explain. We can be so many things so much so that people find it difficult to place us. Even we cannot place ourselves sometimes. It took me this long to be able to articulate my profile, a candid description of me and my abilities and there is more but let me stop here for now.
Everyone seeks relevance and like I said in “I am single…” people have the capacity to remember you for one thing only therefore the struggle that most multi talented people have is, which is the way for me? Let me come out of my mind to get you a clearer picture…
This is me, I love singing, I see someone else who is a great singer and I wish I was that person and check it out, I can sing too and very well. The next minute, I see an actor display and I am equally moved to want to be like him and I have what it takes to be like him. Then I read a book and oh what a book and I want to be an author and I have what it takes as well. I mean, my case is not like those that just know they are not cut out for some things and therefore do not bother to venture, for me I can and I know I can, feel me? So, I have the ability to do so many things but wonder which way do I go? What will announce me to the world and keep me in their minds forever? Which of the many abilities and skills will I be renowned for? Folks, this struggle can be very heart rending and we are tended easily towards bouts of depression.
Are you following me so far? I am scattered. I can do so many things and be so many things and that is my problem or is it? Is it a bad thing to be like this? No! It is NOT… I feel strongly for this category of people because I am one with them and I know how it can feel sometimes and here is my word of advice to you.
God is a very purposeful Being and our individual uniqueness contributes to the overall beauty and wonder that is the world. It don’t matter if you are multi skilled or single skilled, the charge is to work with what you have for the benefit of mankind. You don’t have to be Bill Gates to make a difference. Fame does not always translate to positive impact that is why there are those called unsung heroes. They are still heroes, it doesn’t matter the word that is used to qualify the hero either sung or unsung, the constant there is hero. They are not known but their deeds and contributions to mankind reverberate through history and beyond. Check the dictionary for the meaning of hero again then look into the mirror and you will see the hero is you. I thoroughly enjoyed Evan Almighty the movie, Acts of Random Kindness (ARK), whatever your skills or talents level, build an ARK. Don’t bury your talents like the servant who did (Matthew 25:14-30). Do something with what you have at every opportunity that presents itself. I sing, I act, I speak, I blog, I do all the things I can do and I put my heart in it. That is what you should do too. Run away from depressive thoughts; express yourself to the fullest as God is your limit.
Pro 11:24  There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. e-Sword KJV.
I am scattered, to be a blessing multiple times over and I am loving every moment of it… let’s do this…

Terrorists in our midst-strictly Naija.

I am beginning to question the rationale behind this incessant call for dialogue with terrorist.  How will any reasonable person think that you can reason with unreasonable people??? Have any of these negotiators gone through the timeline of the bombings and killings so far??? Has any of them totaled the number of lives that these unreasonable faceless cowards killed so far and the number of innocent families affected so far??? Do they think that this will be their reaction if they were directly affected that is if they lost a limb or a member of their family to the unjust violence???
These people have conscientiously and deliberately targeted human beings and you say they have a point and therefore the Federal Government should invite their leaders to the round table. Killers??? Round table?
MEND in driving home their point (employed tactics that still respected the sanctity of the Human life) kidnapped but released their victims. They blew up oil facilities that, yes set us back but it could still be repaired but these terrorist under a most unreasonable and insane idea are causing irreparable damage to families, taking lives that they can’t bring back, and yet some people including a former Inspector General of Police in Nigeria are asking us to wipe our tears, bear our pains, bury our dead and negotiate with them. Note carefully that unlike the media and others I have deliberately chosen not to deign the terrorist group with any form of dignity and recognition by calling them by the name that espouses their stupid ideology. I am into development work and we have a practice of not discarding any idea no matter how foolish, but I daresay that their idea of anti western education is the most foolish of all ideas that any one will concoct.
The guns and ammunition they use in fighting their unfounded cause dropped from heaven? If they have issues with western education what stops them from carving out their own colony and remove themselves from civilization??? Why don’t they go back to the era before western education came by their lifestyle and shun any trappings of westernization??? After all, we have nudist colonies in certain countries and they don’t go around burning those that choose to wear clothes. We have people using creative means to fight for or promote a cause, why must our desire to seek attention be violence based in Nigeria (I never supported MEND’s methods too but MEND and these faceless cowards are miles apart in the question of sanity. MEND is just the lesser of two evils to me.)???
To the murderers and their supporters, is anybody forcing western education down your throats??? To those like Okiro that are calling for negotiations, what is the basis for negotiation??? What is the rationale??? Ok, let’s say we are now at the negotiating table so they say no more western education and the FG says ok, put down your arms we will abolish all schools, I am confused can any of you negotiators explain what this negotiation will look like??? As in, do you negotiate with criminals??? A couple of attention seeking cowards come together, start fomenting trouble, killing people and some people desire negotiation…. That is absurd and insane to say the least. Who do you want to negotiate with in the first place when nobody has chosen to come out in the open to say he is part of the cowards???
Let all media henceforth desist from giving them undue and undeserved attention.
Let all us from now henceforth adopt a practice and regime of strict vigilance. Let us not take anything for granted.
Let us work to heighten the level of our security consciousness. We must not take the law into our hands but instead let us report any suspicious looking person and package to nearest authorities.
These people are nothing else but cold blooded murderers that have no qualms whatsoever in taking human life and their cause is not just. I fail to see how they have been wronged and therefore see no basis for any form of negotiation with them. We have a constitution and we have laws. Aspects of these laws cover our response to such acts as a nation, therefore let us call a spade a spade and not a shovel and take necessary actions and sanctions against these cowards.
Take heed all of you who are calling for negotiation with criminals, please from henceforth if you have nothing good to say, keep quiet. You are inadvertently heating up the polity and encouraging all sorts by such statement. Some other unwise persons may rise up tomorrow to unleash mayhem on the innocent emboldened by your views. Nigeria does not need such now or ever please…
Finally, my advice to you faceless cowards is, stop the shedding of innocent blood, shun violence, remove your veil and come out from hiding. If you feel you have a just cause, come out and use creative means to push your cause. If you fail to heed my advice, there shall be no hiding place for you anywhere in the world. No hole will be big enough to contain you. You shall be fully exposed and the law will deal with you appropriately. Heed my words…

I am single……

In your dreams, me single? No way and let me bust it already, or should i??? Pardon my attempt at suspense and follow me through.
The issue is there is a saying that goes, Jack of all trades, master of none and many other sayings that espouse the principle of focus. I mean chasing two rats at once is crazy except you are chasing them through a narrow tube that is closed at the other end.
Every man has an inner craving to be relevant; it’s in all of us. A desire to be recognized, to be noticed you can add famous and so on. The issue now is what is the platform for recognition??? I have dreams, not just me. We hear stories of and witness people who are making impact in life and we want to be like them. Remember that success has many relatives, friends and well wishers. Everyone identifies with success and desires to be successful.
Now, having established the innate desire for relevance, it now boils down to what to do to attain this relevance. That will be the focus of today’s blog. Ooooooops! Thought I was going to talk about relationship, as in the single that mingles in a bid to double? Naaaaaaaa.
I am quickly discovering that all successful people are single, yes single. O.k., let me start Eddie Murphy, single, Jamie Foxx, single, Genevive Nnaji, single, Pastor Adeboye, single, John Maxwell, single, Ali Baba, single, Donald Trump, single, Tiger Woods, single, Usain Bolt, single, Didier Drogba, single, Chinua Achebe, single, the list is endless and all of them are SINGLE!!!!
By single, I mean, when your hear their names mentioned only one thing comes to your mind, what they do, for instance Tiger Woods is known for singing true or false? Jamie Foxx is an actor, true or false? Eddie Murphy is a musician, true or false? Especially Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy, most people I know will never believe that Eddie Murphy then used to be a singer too and I have seen Jamie Foxx’s song on Channel O and it doesn’t just click with me that he is a singer in the mold of say, 50 Cents. 50 Cents has appeared in a few movies but you still get to describe him as a rap artiste. Forget about all the possible diversifications, only one thing sticks to our minds about people and that is whatever it is that got them fame in the first place. It doesn’t matter how many areas one develops expertise, people will only remember you for one thing.
Here is the kernel of my gist so far, find that one thing and do it. The process may be short, long, difficult, easy, anyhow. But you can only make the impact you desire to make by discovering that single thing that will launch you out. Jesus didn’t make his fame as a carpenter, or healer, or teacher, or because He is the son of God, all this wouldn’t have mattered if He didn’t die and rise again. That was and is the only thing that matters because that is the single thing that had far reaching and most lasting effect on mankind. People will still feel the effect till tomorrow and for as long as the world remains and I am almost sure that we will sing about it when we get to Heaven.
As you look to manuals to get a hang of your newly purchased device, so you have to look to God to discover that which will bring you forth and which people will most remember you by. He is our maker and He has a purpose for creating every being. Fulfillment only comes with discovering that single but impactful purpose for your life and doing it. Pouring yourself into it whole heartedly because by doing so, you obey Him, you find joy and you add to others meaningfully.
The path to the singleness I am talking about today may not be easy for all, but the gains far exceed the pains. The road to self discovery is the only way I know that doesn’t always makes sense from the beginning and through the course of the journey but at the end; all things are clear and peace reigns. One thing that will make a lot of sense is to be guided all the way and God will gladly be your guide if you let Him.
Today, it’s I am single. Watch out for “I am scattered” next blog…..

Should I die, today…

How often do you think about death or dying? When you do, what do you think about? When I talk of thinking about death, I mean just plain pondering the thought that someday, you will die. Considering that dying is not restricted to old age, I mean now we have what we term ‘life expectancy’ and this varies from Nation to Nation. Are you prepared to die? Or sorry, are you prepared for death? Should one even think about it? Here I am mentioning it so much that I feel you may begin to think that this is a horror article. Relax, it is not.
I occasionally mull over this issue of death and here are my thoughts; what is going to happen to those that are close to me when I die? What are people going to say about me? How many people are going to miss me? Why will they miss me? How will I be remembered? For how long will memories of me last in the minds of people that know me? Note that I don’t bother myself about when death will come neither am I afraid of it; my only concern is what legacy will I leave behind? If the world continues for many years after I have left, will my life affect generations that will come after me? What am I doing now that will last till the world remains? Or most importantly, have I lived my life to please Him who sent me?
This and more such questions run through my mind from time to time. What about you? Are you afraid of death? Or you are one of those who desire to postpone dying or even attain immortality? The only way you can attain immortality is through Christ’s atoning death. Man must die and that is certain and those who won’t experience the physical death will be transformed – read 1st Thessalonians 4: 17.
Our duration in this world is limited and therefore we must think about death and related issues i.e. Life. I have Life, hence my confident handling of this issue but my main focus in this piece is; how are we prepared for death knowing that we all are not going to die at once at least not yet but we are likely to leave people behind, e.g., spouse, children, parents, relatives, friends the list goes on – I hope I am not hearing that God forbid? – the reality that death can come knocking at any time T and occasion O where T and O are undefined should be frequently considered after all death is not a punishment especially for those who embrace Grace and I say like Paul the Apostle in Phi 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. e-Sword KJV.
One way to prepare for this eventuality called death is for all, especially African men to write their will. Failure to do so complicates matters for those left behind. You make it very difficult for your life’s work to be transferred to those who deserve it. Remember that we are yet to totally do away with some of our barbarous traditions and practices that disinherit our loved ones after our demise and the law permits the Government to allocate a percentage of such unwilled wealth to herself. Okay, forget that I used the word remember to start the last sentence, let me not assume that you already know therefore note now and commit the earlier sentence to memory. Our death should not cause heart ache for those that will be left behind. It shouldn’t be reason for any kind of conflict, strife or even war. As we are making plans for the future, let’s never forget that DEATH is a real and tangible part of that future because the last I remember, no one knows tomorrow and only God is privy to that. Those who know God stand a chance to know too because He sometimes chooses to share some things with us.
If you wish to do away with your fear of death, get to know God through Christ. He loves you more than you’ll ever know. And please, make sure you write your will soon, please. You don’t have to wait till you own the world. Poor people die too and their death causes untold hardship for the left behind as even the little they left behind does not get to their beneficiaries, very baaaaaaad.  My fellow African men please don’t let the superstitiousness of the African mindset hinder you from doing the right thing. Write your will today; better still make all future investments in the name of your spouse and children. This helps too.
Einstein, Shakespeare, Martin Luther Jnr., Plato, Homer, Michel Angelo, Mozart Ghandi and a lot more, I never had the opportunity to meet one on one but I will certainly feel them till tomorrow. What about you???
I believe I have briefly discussed one main issue with two points here and that is death is a constant this side of eternity so, live your life in such a way that people will have fond memories of you and be impacted by your legacy. Also, leave your loved ones in peace after you are gone by writing a will now before your time comes.
Ooops, lest I forget, seek to know God and a lot will be settled by that. A relationship with our Maker is gem, life, peace, joy, name it… in Him, we can live forever together in eternity. Oh, death where is thy sting… 1st Corinthians 15:55.

who do i marry??? 2

It is June, the beginning of the end of the 1st half of 2011 and I am sure a time of serious stock taking for many, myself inclusive.
I discovered that my write-up titled “who do I marry???” enjoys the highest viewage among my 19 blogs up to date. It alone has drawn over 60 people to my blog site and I am ticklishly happy. Ticklish for obvious reasons, marriage is still very much a hot topic and happy because it is drawing traffic to my blog site. Isn’t that just pat???
Disappointing though is the fact that the blog only had 2 comments, awwwwww PLEASE!!! Drop comments now. It helps to know if one needs to make any adjustments, you know now.
That be that, I seriously wonder why we quickly label some aspects of our being “Old School” and this is a common thing among the newer generation – to think that one day my children may refer to my ideas as old school. So tell me. What is new under the sun??? Or like the Yorubas will put it, “ki l’oju o ri ri?” that is what has the eyes not seen before?  Or the other powerful saying of the Yorubas that I love which goes “a ri iru eleyi ri, a fi n da eru ba oloro” which translates literarily that saying we have not seen this before is only to scare the affected person which means, there is nothing new under the sun. There is an English saying that aligns with all these and it goes, we cannot keep reinventing the wheel. We can make it last longer, look finer, stronger but to try to reinvent the wheel is obviously a stupid venture.
Why am I stressing this nothing new under the sun message??? I know how my mum met my dad and indeed how most of my friends parents, met each other. Things were not this complicated then. Recommendation and referrals was the in thing. People trusted the judgment of family and friends in the choice of a future spouse as in all that was needed was a good word from a friend and the relationship starts and blossoms. Maybe there was more room for trust then than now.
I must say that the fact that distractions abound now is why things are getting rather complicated. The advent of much advancement especially the media (entertainment) has colored the eyes of many. A lot more people are not founded on any particular principle so they get blown here and there by any and every fad. This equally affects the ability to make a decision on who to marry. When you don’t have a mind of your own, you will never be able to make any concrete decision. Check out the rate of divorce these days, compare it what it was like then discounting the increase in population.
In all this present confusion, you can find your spouse and enjoy a blissful married life. I can gladly say that I have enjoyed every bit of my marriage to my wife and mother of my children. I have God to thank for making very wonderful people abound for me – I can’t begin to mention names – and beautiful resources that help renew my mind and most especially the Bible, the word of God.
In this vast decaying world with all its confused and complicated complexity, the only source of sanity is the Word of God. It has answers to every of life’s questions as it leads you to Life. Making choices become easier when you are anchored to Christ the source of all things.
I hope someone is blessed by this and gets righted. You can only have it all when you have Christ. That marriage that career that dream, that desire can only be satisfying in God.

How time flies…

It seems just like yesterday. Recollect how many times you have spoken those words. That is if you take the time to just sit back to dredge up the past, look back to see how far you’ve come in life, taking note of where you were then compared to now, you say how time flies…
It seems just like yesterday.  How long ago was it that you were born. And now, here you are. When you remember your days in school or wherever and it seemed it would never end that you would remain a child forever and now you have children of your own, your family, and you get to look at their antics, try to compare it with what you did back then and you say, how time flies…
It seems just like yesterday. When your heart suddenly felt like exploding when you first sighted that boy/girl. When your feet refused to transport you and your tongue went missing. When your head hung in the clouds after the result came in YES. When it appeared both of you were doing toothpaste advert walking down the aisle after the I do… it’s now several years past, the children have flown the coop and his/her sight still gives you the thrills (you must be blessed). You are back where you started, just the two of you and looking into each other’s eyes your heart says, how time flies…
It seems just like yesterday. When you felt you were nothing and you had nothing. When you toiled and scratched and struggled to make ends meet. When you saved and traded gradually building the empire that is now a global entity. You take your deserved rest from it all and look back and say, how time flies…
It seems just like yesterday. Back then when you had to go from street to street, trying to locate a house that is blessed with that big box that had humans inside doing all sorts and then you wonder how they get to feed and why they were black and white. Here you are today, watching DSTV on you mobile phone and able to chat with anyone, anywhere and at anytime and while chatting, you stop to remember that just a few years back, this was unimaginable and you say, how time flies…
All the above, is assuming you made something of your yesterday and you have arrived at a desirable today. The truth remains, if you find yourself in pleasurable and desirable circumstances you wish it to continue and it always appears short lived but if it were a bad time, the seconds drag for eternity before making minutes and the minutes take their time to reach the hour mark. Time is in slow motion and yet you are still able to look back at it all and say, how time flies…
The saying is true, that what humanity has in common and in equal measures is time, that is, irrespective of the number of days you may spend here on earth; our unit allocation of time is equal daily – 24 hrs. You decide how you spend your time and what you spend your time on. I like that saying that goes yesterday is gone, but today is a gift that is why it is called present and might I add, tomorrow never comes and truly, time flies…

D2MAD…help our youth the truth to know…

All you need do is open the pages of any Nigerian Newspaper or read any article on Nigeria and you will be assaulted with the impossible hopelessness that appears to be the lot of this large African Nation and mirrored all over the African continent. The sheer magnitude and hopelessness that is expressed in the day to day struggle of the average Nigerian and indeed African especially this south of the Sahara is mind boggling. It is a wonder that some of us are still able to maintain our sanity.
I was discussing with our family Doctor one day and I was shocked to hear him say that if he gets an opening, he will leave Nigeria for good.  Shocked because by all standards he is an established man as in set and I wondered what he expected me, a young person to do. I that feel I have a lot more reasons to want to check out and maybe join Maziyateke in the UK or several other friends in the US, live life, enjoy and forget home (can’t do that, won’t do that). This is a man I love. He is father and one of those that still believe in the masses. He is a man that dedicated his life to serving humanity and a philanthropist to the core and very down to earth. He is a man I admire; blunt and unassuming, a great man (I hope he is reading this). We talked quite a lot that day and frankly too. He expressed his shock at the level of rot that is now Nigeria. He said he is willing to check out if the opportunity arises. He is completely disillusioned. He is not unaware that his generation shares in the burden of responsibility for this mess. That is something good. Then he asked what do the young people have to offer?
I paused to consider the question critically and analytically and now I ask everyone that calls himself a young person or young at heart as some say, what do you have to offer? Can the youth champion the necessary change that is needed in this country and indeed this continent? Sincerely, critically assessing our situation in Africa one is doomed to gloom except for the few unrepentant optimist (thank God I am one) that are still alive and hopeful for a better future. These are not just hopeful but are also active in ensuring the reality of this dream, a glorious Africa. I know a handful of young people who are doing their thing to catalyze the change we need.
Permit me to mention just a few, Ireti(Retlinks) of Rheallyz Naija, Tolu Borokini of D’Surehouse Resources, Angelique of maziyateke.wordpress.com, Paul (Qish) Njoku, Ife Leo-Olagbaye, Gbenga Sesan of EiE and a host of others too numerous to mention (and they are not blaming the white man too) out there still keeping the dream of a better future alive. I salute you. Young people that are willing to look beyond this present mess and CRY for a saner and progressive future. Young people who dare to be different by choosing not to tow the line of their peers who are presently distracting themselves with temporal pleasures. Young people who have dedicated themselves to stay focused and influence their peers by integrity, steadfastness and good character. Young people who are willing to make the necessary sacrifices to realize the future they dream of. Visionary young people who know that they can’t achieve this on their own and therefore chose to yield to God almighty and surrender to His wisdom and guidance. Young people who are willing to bear their cross and know that God got their back. Young people who are not ashamed to be the change they desire to see and do not shy away from the truth. Should I continue??? Does the above profile fit you??? If yes GREAT, if no, shouldn’t you rather align yourself with such a force because whether you like it or not, against this seeming hopelessness and helplessness, against all odds, this light is going to shine through and this present darkness will fade away.
Disengage yourself from this seemingly amusing distractions and join this fast growing team of Holy Ghost Firebrand Youth, Destined to Make A Difference in and around them. I invite you to be a part of this great move of God with this team of young people.
How do I join you ask??? Anywhere you are right now, surrender your life to God, accept Jesus into your life and you have taken the first step. Prayerfully link up with and join a body of believers, study the word of God – the Bible – and follow the instructions therein. The truth be said, no amount of strategizing can have any effect except this first step has been taking but this I assure you, every strategy after this first step is sure to hit home. We will be fooling ourselves if we think we can solve the problem of this world without God as we will equally be fooling ourselves if we sit back expecting a miracle and refuse to act. Acting on His instructions is the only way to succeed and this can’t happen except you have a relationship with Him.
Guys! Ecc 12:1  Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; ASV – e-sword

Pro 20:29  The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. ASV – e-sword

Better shine at your glorious best before you gray and become beautiful which is not bad but it is just necessary to make hay now that the sun is still shining. Ladies! I hope you know this includes you???
People! Young People, let’s do this. Lend your voice to the inevitable change that is just around the corner, be the change, make noise about the change, shout it at the top of your voice, on the mountain top, in the valley, all over, live the change. We can, and we will…

who do i marry???

I remember asking a girl out once. She was my friend. Let me give a quick background, in Nigeria, we don’t date. We enter relationships with the expectation that it will surely end in marriage. It doesn’t matter that, that is not always the case, but the mindset is still generally unchanged. There are few and very few who are practicing dating in Nigeria. The concept of dating is still foreign to us and not yet properly understood but it is catching on gradually.
Now among my Christian brothers and sisters back then, it was more serious as we all were seeking for the will of God. Will of God meaning, future spouse. When you hear will of God then, it had only one meaning. That is gradually changing now. So, most of everyone will be seeking the will of God for their life therefore no room for dating. It has to be it! Therefore all such relationships are serious from the get go in fact; the tag fiancée surfaces almost immediately.
Back to my story, here I was seeking my will of God and sensing that this here girl is it! I make my proposal and she says NO. Taken aback, I asked why and she goes ‘because we are friends’. Those were her very words, because we are friends… I had to ask her if she intended to marry her enemy. Now that is my confusion, she is not the only one that has made that same comment as this same view has been replayed in conversations with other ladies – note the word used is conversation and not proposal so don’t think I have a habit of asking girls out just for the  pleasure. These ladies just go, NO! It won’t work between us, he is my friend, he knows so much about me, we are better off as just friends, I don’t have any feelings for him, and the best, he is like a brother… sound familiar???
Now to my main point, these same girls now complain that there are no guys out there that meet the mark, their mark, HELLO!!! What’s going on here??? Does this sound familiar?
My friend wrote on his blog about the relationship situation issue in the UK and the attitude of the men in the UK and he asked me to do something from the Nigeria angle – Check his blog at ugopaulnjoku.tumblr.com. I read it and couldn’t help noticing that it’s the same story here in Nigeria but with a slight twist – the issue runs both ways. Guys complain bitterly that there are fewer and fewer wife materials out there. Ladies go, all men are the same, they only have one thing on their mind – don’t ask me what! And here’s the fun part, these complainants both male and female I have as friends as in buddies. Some are even part of my inner caucus. It pains me, but I am more confused than pained because I wonder, if one must marry – me, I must o – why is it so stressful to find someone to settle down with? I have a string of guys, and gals, in their 30s, unmarried and still searching and we are all friends, in the same circle. Why can’t they just see themselves? And like I started above, the ladies will go; he is my friend so we can’t go out while the guys will go, she is not serious, or she is too clingy or the worst she is only good to warm the bed but not take home to mama and all sorts. Me, I never had such issues. My quest was to find me and in the process find her. I had always lived by the saying that marriage is not about finding the right person but about being the right person therefore, my focus had always been being the right person; working on myself to attain the proper mindset, mentality and outlook, and to work on my character and all and at this point I must NOTE emphatically that GOD is the MOST important part of this process.  And after all, the law of attraction implies that, ‘you attract who you are” so it is first all about you. We are unique and our uniqueness has a role to play in our choice of a spouse among other equally crucial decisions. We need to understand our uniqueness to accept another’s uniqueness. It appears complicated but it is simple… it starts from the heart, your heart gat to be right and your mind will follow plus your body too. That is why GOD is MOST, if you let Him, He works you inside out. Do let him, please…
People! this article, is a big question mark? I am not writing as one who has all the answers, no but as one who is somewhat confused at this, (I don’t even know what to name it situation) and hopes that some of you that read this will have something to say. Let me keep ruminating over the issue, in fact, let us do this together. Who knows, we may together come up with solutions that work and bring happiness to the lives of those who desire to get married.
Like my Naija people will say, “Shine ya eyes well, well!” is it that hard??? Let me put a pause to it, see if I get a couple of responses and go on from there.

Very funny

wonders they say never ends, and for me that means plenty. lo and behold something i wrote many years back. i say again, thank God for HARD DISKS. enjoy.
Writing your dream

Write first think later, were words I just came across from a movie. So, I am more or less taking the advice. I am writing. Just writing? You may ask. Well, a lot of things actually go through my head and I keep saying to myself, one day, I am going to put it all down. Well, you may also wonder that, wouldn’t that be a good recipe for writing rubbish? To answer that question, I don’t intend in any way to write rubbish despite the fact that I am just writing. And by the way, for you to have gotten this far in this read means something, so keep enjoying yourself while I try to bore you some more. Any ways just like my opening says and I am doing, how many times has it happened to us that we have some lofty ideas to do something, could be a song, write a poem, write an article or even a book or it could be anything really, but we just continue to confine such thoughts to their source. It never comes out, in fact some don’t even come out in form of words not even to ourselves. I naturally enjoy my sleep and I get easily stressed up if I don’t get enough sleep, but here I am typing late into the night just because of a movie. Though I wonder if I will be able to keep up this habit, but then like I say sometimes, there is always a first time. I am almost sure that if you had seen my first draft of this particular piece, you would have been frightened of by the magnitude of the errors present, but like I said, I am just writing not thinking yet. Well I hope the movie was right because I am going to humbly ask for your candid opinion concerning this piece. It is not that I am seeking encouragement of any kind and not that it may turn out to be a revelation for me that I should be in the writing profession. But then really, should I have any excuse not to write seeing that I myself have devoured a whole lot of books. Then I may have the excuse of resources you know it may be too tedious to write with a ball point pen especially in this age of mega multi media facilities that even let you dictate your own words only for the computer to type it out for you. Well I don’t have any of that as a problem because I have access to a good system that sits redundantly  on a desk in the living room of the next flat which happens to be where my room is in other words I sleep next to a computer. Oh I am looking forward to when I will own my very own laptop so when it comes I will be able to put down all this grand ideas I have. Yours my not be as difficult as mine after all I already have a computer which you don’t but you aspire to be a writer or whatever it is that your dream may be. A lot of people always talk about waiting for the right time or sorry the perfect time, and others just don’t have any access to any resource that could further enhance them. I think it may not actually be a problem of not having the resources or the right resources but it may be a case of not actually seeing the opportunity around you as resources. I don’t know yet what I have started, but I am surely going to ensure or at least try my best to put down the ideas that come to mind as and when they do. I have heard of people whose personal diaries became best sellers. We all have treasures within; all we have to do is, dig it out. Alors, like the French will say, if you made it this far, it may be probably because it is just a few lines, but beware, I might want to try you with a whole book next time and I sincerely hope you are looking forward to that but of course not with trepidation. It really was nice boring you. Cheerio.

Well am at it again, just got back from work, ate watched half or almost half of another movie that I love so much though it inspires me in other directions but it inspires me any way. Then I start writing again. What? I don’t know am still just writing, not thinking yet. I am not so used to the keyboard yet but hope that by the time I’ve gone through like 6000 words , I will know the whole layout by heart. Especially since I am not finding having to type with inadequate lighting funny and its stressful and slow. Maybe your mind wanders like mine, you may call it roving because mine is capable of scanning a million topics in a sec. it really amazes me. Makes me ask, what happens if we write down everything that passes through our mind. We might likely experience what happened when God decided to format the earth with water during Noah’s time. Which is, we all finding ourselves drowning in the deluge of our own words from our own minds. Amazing isn’t it. Well it does not end there. Say if the rule is we could determine how long we live by the words we speak no lets start with our thoughts. Yes if lets say, for every good thought you add a hundred years to your age but for every ungood thought you loose like a thousand years, what do you think the world will be like, take a guess. No more hurting remarks, snide remarks, sarcastic, words name it. At least then people will not have to be explained to, the difference between good and bad which a host of us really find difficult to justifiably define, especially where it concerns us. To me it’s simply straight forward. There is good and there is bad and it is not how we define it. Our perception can and will never erase one single truth that binds this world together. And that is there is a God who created the world and everything in it. The sooner we accept that the better for us all. Mind you am not writing as one who does not know. I know and I can tell you it’s the best that can happen to anyone. Well, well, well, I have started preaching. Forgive me I just cant help being myself that’s what. But deep down within me I know that we have all got a story in there somewhere. I guess I must be really trying your patience by now because it appears to even my self that I haven’t made any sense since I started this one and this first draft is fraught with mistakes I cant even begin to form a word that best defines it. Well maybe my not seeing too well in the dark is adding to it. Anyways for you information, I am typing with the aid of light from the monitor right in front of me. Yes. You can imagine the strain I am giving the eyes. Most painful of all is the fact that with all I think have got, I just got into my second page today. Meaning I didn’t write up to a page of words last night. Makes me really wonder how these authors could do it. I know I have always had catchy words so am prepared to use that to my advantage. They say am a natural when it comes to story telling. I kind of got it from one of my fore bears. But is like I like making myself heard, But if I really put my mind to it, I may not even bore myself. Also I know about the suspense thing and I am sure a lot of you are already wondering were I am going with all this. Well hang on cos I am also with you in the same boat. I don’t even know where this is gonna end but I have so much faith that it will end well. At least, for you to have gotten this far with me shows it’s either I’m actually good or you are just buoyed along by tenacity. My neck is stiff, my eyes are tired, I am thirsty and getting sweaty just typing, God, I didn’t realize typing was such a hard stuff. Lazy me you would say, stylishly signing of. My mistakes are killing me already and I haven’t even made it to a new page yet. I think am going to have to play the slow but steady thing on this. So, I will go as far and as long as I can go every other day. That I have lasted this long amazes even me. To cap it, that you are still with me this far…………. Fill in the blank spaces yourself. Of course there is no way I can tell. I just hope no school makes this a compulsory text for its students, cos I sure smell the makings of bloody riot on there hands if they attempt to do so. Let me beg that only the brave and adventurous embark on this uncertainness. I remember how I felt then when the English teacher would demand for just 500 words. Imagine the black out. Well we just fill up with a lot of I’s and ands. They are words you know. Really, someone tell me what I am up to tonight. Maybe still trying to a break a record of at least a page a night. I’m certain that no right thinking publisher will agree to take me on. It will sure be catastrophic for such a one. My neck is quitting, so I guess I better quit along. Thank God I hear you say. Like I said it’s the same for me too, thank God. Good night.
